Uniforms for every part of a facilities contract
Cleaning and FM cover a lot of ground: daytime office cleaning, out-of-hours deep cleans, washroom services, waste and grounds, plus the maintenance side. Teams work early, late and across many client sites. Different jobs need different kit, but it should all look like one company.
The cleaning and FM kit list
This is what most cleaning companies, facilities teams and in-house housekeeping departments end up ordering, and what each item is for.
- Tabards and aprons: quick to slip on over existing clothes, with large pockets for cloths and sprays, and simple to colour-code by area or task. Popular for contract cleaning and housekeeping.
- Tunics: a smarter look for client-facing, hotel, office and healthcare-adjacent contracts.
- Polos and T-shirts: the everyday uniform for cleaning operatives. Comfortable, easy to wash and easy to replace. See polos and T-shirts.
- Hi-vis: for waste rounds, car parks, loading bays and external grounds work. See hi-vis workwear.
- Maintenance workwear: work trousers, shirts and jackets for the caretaking and repairs side of the contract. See work trousers.
- Outerwear: fleeces, softshells and waterproofs for early starts, car parks and anyone moving between buildings. See fleeces and jackets.
- Gloves and PPE: for the chemicals your team uses day to day.
Kit by role
A simple way to structure a uniform policy across a mixed FM team, so nobody is guessing what to wear. Different roles can wear different garments and still look like one company, as long as the logo and colours stay consistent.
Cleaning operatives
A branded polo plus a tabard or apron, usually with dark trousers. Add a fleece for early starts and cold sites.
Supervisors and managers
A smarter polo or a shirt, often in a different colour so they're easy to identify on site. That way a client, or a new operative on their first shift, knows straight away who to ask.
Maintenance and grounds
Work trousers, a durable top and hi-vis where the work goes outside or near vehicles.
Colour-coding by role, site, contract or area is a common approach in cleaning contracts. Tell us how you want to split it and we'll keep the colours consistent across repeat orders. Our workwear colour guide can help you choose.
Easy to wash, hard to wear out
Cleaning uniforms get washed constantly. We recommend poly-cotton and polyester fabrics that wash at higher temperatures, dry fast and keep their colour. Embroidered logos stay neat far longer than prints, which matters for kit that's washed this often.
Many tabards have adjustable side fastenings and come in a small range of sizes, so they fit most staff with very little spare stock.
Why branded uniform matters more in FM than most trades
Your staff are in a client's building, often around their employees and sometimes out of hours. A branded uniform does three practical jobs at once.
Security and access
Building staff and users can see at a glance that your operative belongs on site.
Client confidence
A consistent, tidy uniform is one of the visible signals a client uses to judge the contract.
Free advertising
Every person walking through a reception in your branding is a reminder of who holds the contract. Logos usually go on the chest, and many contractors add a larger print on the back of the tabard.

Facilities and multi-site contracts
Facilities companies run teams across many buildings, and high staff turnover is normal. There's no minimum order, so you can order a single polo for a new starter, and we keep your logo set-up on file so the top-up matches the rest of the team.
Our free Secure Buying Wardrobe lets each area manager order approved uniforms online for new starters, within budget, with one invoice for head office. It cuts out the stockroom of spare tabards in every van. We also offer trade and credit accounts for FM companies ordering regularly across multiple contracts. Apply for a credit account.
When a new contract starts, plain stock dispatches next day and branded orders move quickly once your proof is approved, with free UK delivery over £250 ex VAT. Every operative gets the same consistent finish, whichever site they're on.
