Which hi-vis class do you need?
Hi-vis clothing in the UK is tested to EN ISO 20471, which sets three classes based on how much fluorescent and reflective material a garment has:
- Class 1: the lowest visibility. Trousers and some polos, usually worn with a class 2 or 3 top.
- Class 2: most vests and short jackets. The standard for many sites, car parks, warehouses and events.
- Class 3: the highest. Long-sleeve jackets, coats and full suits for roadside, highways and rail work, or a class 2 top worn with class 1 trousers.
Your site rules or client contract usually set the class. Tell us the job and we'll point you to the right garments.
The full hi-vis range
- Hi-vis vests and waistcoats, including executive vests with ID pockets
- Hi-vis jackets, bombers, softshells and waterproof parkas
- Hi-vis trousers, including knee-pad ready styles
- Hi-vis polos, T-shirts and sweatshirts for warmer days
- Orange rail-spec hi-vis to GO/RT 3279 for trackside teams
- Flame-retardant and anti-static hi-vis for higher-risk sites
Printed or embroidered?
Printing suits hi-vis vests and the large back area of jackets. A big back print is readable from a distance and doesn't add weight or affect the reflective tape. Embroidery suits polos, fleeces and softshells, where a crisp chest logo looks smarter. We place logos so they never cover the reflective tape, which keeps the garment within its certification.
